Five days in paradise, a.k.a Harbour Island, The Bahamas. The plane from Miami was less than my arms width wide, which was a bit of a shock. Everything on Harbour Island is extremely picturesque, from the crystal blue sea and sand with hints of pink coral, to the candy coloured houses surrounded by an abundance of palm trees.
We stayed at India Hicks' guest house at Hibiscus Hill which was beautiful and right by the beach.
We rented a boat and went out to Man Island which is... an unmanned island. The water is about knee deep for the most part where it gradually drops off with ample snorkeling opportunities.
It wasn't until we were in the shallow zone that we realised the area we had just swim through was circling with sharks... We accidentally placed ourselves in the middle of a nursery though luckily the sharks were still small enough to be not too curious. They were about 2-3 foot Caribbean Reef Sharks.
I met the cutest little guy, Sampson. He took this photo himself. He had his shirt tied around his head "like Tupac" he said.
We ate out every day and my favourite was definitely the Banana and Ricotta Hotcakes from The Landing.
The trip home was quite a nightmare. I was stuck in Miami for eight and a half hours, finally getting back to the NYC townhouse at five a.m at which point I fell asleep on the edge of my bed fully clothed.
Love the water...just incredible! Thanks xx
